The Bikerni
Formed in 2011 by Urvashi Patole with just 14 members, it has grown in size and has over 700 women as part of it from all over the country. At first, it began with riders wanting to increase their show stunting skills and explore new places on their bikes, as well as set up bike races. The Bikerni are featured in the Limca Book of Records for their expedition to Khardung-La, considered the highest bike-accessible mountain pass, for having the largest all-women motorcycle expedition ever.
Hop On Gurls
Hop On Gurls, another all-female biking group, was launched in 2010 in Bengaluru and now has branches in Mysore and Pune. It was launched to help women learn to ride by the founder Bindu Reddi. It conducts Bullet Riding Sessions for women and organises adventure activities and bike rides. It also runs blood donation drives alongside the Sankalp India Foundation.
Biking Queens
Biking Queens was founded in Surat by Sarika Mehta for super-bikers. It also interacts with women bikers from all over the country, advising and helping to train those who are new to it. Biking Queens participate in bike fests and take up bike rides across the country. Four of its members created new world records as the first female bikers to cover 10 countries, which were: Nepal, India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Riderni
Founded in 2012 by Anjaly Rajan, Riderni is based in ahmedabad. The group takes out numerous rallies in support of women’s issues and lays focus on breaking gender stereotypes and promoting the safety of women.
Bengal Lady Bikers
Bengal Lady Bikers is a group based out of Kolkata. It was founded in 2011 by its two founding members and now has over 100 in its ranks. They bike in the hills in small teams, while some members also ride solo. They do not make fixed plans or seasons as per their motto.
