#Budget2022: Govt Announces Open Platform for National Digital Health Ecosystem, National Tele Mental Health Programme
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today presented the Union Budget 2022 and announced that the government will soon roll out an open platform for the National Digital Health Ecosystem. The platform will consist of digital registries of health facilities and health providers, unique health identity, consent framework and universal access to health facilities.
Moreover, acknowledging the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the mental health of people, the Finance Minister announced the launch of a National Tele Mental Health Programme which will provide access to quality mental health counselling and care services.
The National Tele Mental Health Programme will include 23 mental health centres of excellence. The National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS) will be the nodal centre and IIIT Bangalore will provide the technology support for the programme.
