You can purchase standalone, third-party, or comprehensive car insurance policy from Zuno:

  • Third-Party Car Insurance: Third-party car insurance covers the amount payable as compensation to a third person for any injury caused to them or damage done to their property in an accident by the policyholder’s car. The Indian law has made it mandatory for all vehicle owners to have their vehicle(s) insured by a third-party policy. The rates of third party insurance have been standardised by IRDAI according to the engine capacity of the vehicle in order to make it affordable.
  • Stand Alone Own Damage Car Insurance (SAOD): This insurance policy covers the damages incurred by your vehicle. It protects your car from the risks of getting stolen or damaged by accident, vandalism, man-made or natural calamity. This policy is not mandatory but is highly recommended since car repair is usually very expensive. With this policy, you can safeguard yourself from potential exhaustion of savings on repair or damage related costs for your vehicle.
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance: This insurance plan covers the benefits of both third party and own damage policies.   • Depreciation Protect: The value of your car begins to naturally depreciate as soon as it comes out of the showroom. Insurers consider this depreciation while filing the claim and hence ask policyholders to pay for the depreciation as they settle the claim for damages. With this cover, the insurer covers the cost of depreciation as well and you don't have to pay anything except the mandatory deductibles.
  • Roadside Assistance: The roadside assistance add-on is popular as it provides assistance when it's most needed. When you are stuck on the road due to the mechanical breakdown of your car, a deflated tire, or your car running out of petrol, this add-on sends you immediate help with all necessary equipment to get you back on the journey. With this add-on, you also get towing assistance, medical assistance, and overnight accommodation in special cases.
  • Engine Protect: This cover secures you from the risk of engine failure due to water damage. Engine repairs are very costly and water damage is not covered in basic insurance plans. This add-on bears the cost of repairing or replacing parts including engine parts, gearbox, crankshaft, and piston.
  • Consumables Expenses Protect: This add-on covers the cost of consumables used to repair your car. This includes nuts, bolts, engine oil, AC gas oil, etc.
  • Key and Lock Protect: This add-on enables you to get a replacement key and get a new lock installed for free. It is important to note that the incident of damaged lock should be reported to the police within 48 hours to avail of this service. Also, this service can be availed only once during the policy period.
  • Personal Belongings Protect: If the claim is admissible, with this add-on you get a cover for your and your family’s valuable belongings which were in the car during the incident. Items like a laptop, charger, camera, mobile phone, etc. are included in this cover.
  • NCB Protect: This add-on restores your accumulated No Claim Bonus after your own damage claim. However, this cover loses its value after the first claim, which means with the second claim you will lose your NCB.
  • Invoice Value Protect: This exciting add-on returns you the cost of your car as per the invoice in case of theft or damage beyond repair. It also includes the charges of road tax and RTO registration. Ensure that you are the first owner of the car, otherwise, you won't be able to get the benefit from this add-on.
  • Pay As You Drive: This cover is for people who don't drive their car on a daily basis. If you use your car moderately or less, then this cover enables you to save money on insurance plans. You get a discount on policy based on the average number of kilometers you drive in one year. You get all the benefits of an insurance plan at a discounted price.
  • Mandatory Deduction Protect: Deductibles are part of a policy that determines how much repair cost the policyholder will pay before the claim goes to the insurer. This cover protects you from paying the mandatory deductibles at the time of claim settlement and hence even the lowest claims will be settled by the insurer.

How To Make A Claim For Zuno Car Insurance?

If your car is damaged you shall file a claim immediately. Zuno offers a very simple and hassle-free claim process. Before filing the claim, ensure that you have the following documents handy.

Step 1: Inform Your Insurer

It is crucial to inform the insurer about the damage at the earliest. Timely initiation enables a smooth and quick claim process. To initiate the claim, call customer support at 1800 12000 (Toll Free) or 022 423 12000 (paid landline).

Step 2: Submit Documents

Zuno would seek details of how the damage happened to your car and ask you for the required documents. Apart from the usual documents, you might be asked to submit some additional documents to support your claim. Submit these documents and ensure authenticity is maintained to avoid rejection of the claim.

Step 3: Inspection

Next, you can book a slot for inspection, an inspection can be arranged at your address or any other location as per your convenience. A third-party inspecting officer will examine the damages to your car and calculate the estimated cost of repair.

Step 4: Get Your Car Repaired

When the Inspection is complete and your claim is approved by the inspecting officer, you can get your car repaired. Now you need to choose between going for either a cashless claim settlement or a reimbursement claim settlement. If you go for a cashless garage, you just need to pay the deductibles. On the other hand, if you get your car repaired at a non-network garage, submit the invoice of repair to Zuno and you will get the reimbursement in your bank account.
