Reliance General Health Insurance Premium Calculation

The premium amount of health insurance plans get influenced by a range of factors. The information about these kinds of factors helps in choosing the right health insurance policy according to needs and budget. Below are the factors, which can impact the amount of premium health insurance plans of Reliance General Health Insurance:

  • Age – People of a young age are less susceptible to illnesses than old age people. It denotes that old people will have more frequent visits to hospitals in comparison to young people. Due to this, insurance providers have to offer more compensation to old people for their medical expenses. Hence, the premium amount increases with age.
  • Family Medical History – People who belong to a family with a medical history of specific illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, etc., could be asked to pay a higher amount of premium compared to people with a healthy family medical history. So, family medical history holds an impact on the amount of premium.
  • Unhealthy Habits – People having the habit of smoking, drinking, chewing tobacco and injurious substances on a regular basis are more prone to diseases. The insurance providers offer health insurance policies to such types of people at higher amounts of premiums. The lifestyle and habits can impact the premium amount of a health insurance plan too.
  • Occupation – People involved in the occupation with an amount of risk are charged with a higher premium than those who have a profession with little or negligible health risk. For example, a person working in a coal mine will have to pay a higher premium than someone who works in a school or any corporate office.
  • Sum Insured – People holding a health insurance plan with a higher sum insured have to pay for a higher premium amount that makes insurance providers entitled to offer a higher amount of compensation to policyholders during a medical emergency. It is always suggested to choose the sum insured amount exactly as per the budget and requirement.

Reliance General Health Insurance Claim Process

The health insurance claim process is a procedure under which an insured person raises a claim request with the insurance provider against the medical expenses incurred due to hospitalisation during a medical emergency. A process of a health insurance claim can be processed in two ways such as cashless claim and reimbursement claim.

What is the Cashless Claim Process of Reliance General Health Insurance?

When an insured individual gets medical treatment at a network hospital of his or her insurance provider, the claim request is processed in a cashless manner, where the medical bills are directly paid off to the hospital by the insurer.

Here are simple steps to raise a health insurance cashless claim with Reliance General Insurance:

Step 1: Intimate the Insurer
Intimate Reliance General Insurance about your admission at least 48 hours before admission, in case of planned hospitalisation, and within 24 hours of admission, in case of emergency hospitalisation at 1800-3009.

Step 2: Pre-Authorisation Request
Approach the insurance helpdesk of the network hospital and show them your Reliance Health card, Photo ID, and the medical reports. Also, get the ‘Claim Request Form’ from them and submit it after getting it duly filled and signed by the policyholder. The hospital will share all the details and documents of the insured person with the insurer.

Step 3: Verification of Documents
The claim settlement team of the insurer will process the request of the policyholder for authorization after receiving complete and relevant information of the insured person. They will make a thorough examination of the claim request form, medical documents and other details provided to them.

Step 4: Claim Approval
If our claim settlement team finds the submitted documents or details inadequate, they may ask for some more. They can reject the claim requests as well if they find the provided bills, documents or details insufficient or false. In such conditions, the policyholders will have to pay for their medical bills on their own but can submit the claim documents for reimbursement.

Step 5: Settlement of Claim
If the claim settlement team of the insurance provider finds all the provided bills, documents and details appropriate and valid, then the insurer will coordinate with the network hospital directly and pay for the admissible claim amount after the insured patient is discharged.

How To Make A Reliance General Health Insurance Reimbursement Claim?

Whenever a policyholder gets medical treatment at a non-network hospital of Reliance General Health Insurance, the reimbursement type of claim settlement is processed. Under this procedure, the policyholders have to pay for their medical bills, but later they can raise a claim reimbursement request with their insurance provider.

Here are the steps to raise a health insurance reimbursement claim with Reliance General Health Insurance:

Step 1: Avail Medical Treatment
Avail the medical treatment at a non-network hospital and make complete payment of the hospital bills. Collect all the original medical documents, forms, bills and invoices, and certificates signed by the attending surgeons and physicians.

Step 2: Submit Required Documents
Submit the completely filled and signed claim request form along with the necessary documents to the Reliance General Health Insurance. The claim documents as listed in the policy terms have to be submitted by the policyholder to the insurer within 30 days from date of discharge.

Documents required for Reliance General Health Insurance Reimbursement Claim

  • Duly completed and signed claim form, in original
  • Doctor’s referral letter advising hospitalisation
  • Doctor’s prescription advising drugs, diagnostic tests and consultation
  • Original bills, receipts and discharge card from the hospital or doctor

  • Original pathological or diagnostic test reports, and payment receipts
  • Ambulance receipt and bill
  • First Information Report or Policy Final Report, if applicable

Step 3: Verification of Documents
The claim settlement team of Reliance General Health Insurance will verify the claim form and medical documents provided. On finding them insufficient, they can ask for some more details or documents from the policyholder or can even reject the claim request.

Step 4: Settlement of Claim
The claim settlement team of the insurance provider on finding all the details and medical documents accurate and valid will approve the claim request of the insured person. After that, the insurer will reimburse the admissible amount arising after making relevant deductions for co-payments, sub-limits, etc, to the policyholder.
