New India Assurance Health Insurance for Kids

New India Mediclaim Policy offers extensive coverage to kids/children. The policy covers children right from 3 months to 18 years. Dependent children are also covered up to 25 years of age.

Scope of Coverage

• A newborn baby is covered right from the date of birth
• 30 days pre-hospitalisation for treatment of the hospitalised child
• 60 days post-hospitalisation for complete recovery of the child
• Cover for room rent, ICU, doctor’s fee, nursing services if the kid is hospitalised
• AYUSH treatment benefits up to a maximum of 25% of the Sum Insured
• Ambulance charges subject to cap 1% of Sum Insured
• Medical coverage for self, spouse, parents as well

Eligibility

The policy covers children between the age of 3 months and 18 years provided that either mother or father is covered concurrently. The policy also covers financially dependent children between 18 years and 25 years.

Exclusions

• Vaccination and/or inoculation are excluded
• Illnesses due to involvement in unlawful activities
• Diseases arising out of use of alcohol, drugs, wine, etc.
• Injuries due to war, invasion, military operation, or warlike situation
• AIDS/HIV or other Sexually Transmitted Diseases, etc.
