About Oriental Jan Arogya Bima Health Insurance

Jan Arogya Bima Policy provides you reimbursement of hospitalisation expenses, domiciliary hospitalisation expenses for illness, disease, or injury sustained. The policy aims to enable the poorer sections of the society by offering coverage at very low health insurance premiums ranging between Rs. 70 and Rs. 380. The policy offers coverage for R. 5,000 per person for various healthcare expenses including in-patient hospitalisation expenses, 30 pre-hospitalisation and 60 post-hospitalisation expenses, and specified or listed procedures that require less than 24 hours of hospitalisation.

Jan Arogya Bima Policy covers people aged between 5 years and 70 years at the time of policy purchase. You can also include children aged between 3 months and 5 years if one or both the parents are covered under the policy. Note that to be eligible to buy this policy, you must be a resident of India. You are eligible for tax deductions on the premium paid for this policy, under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The policy has an initial waiting period of 30 days applicable to all illnesses. You will be eligible to make a claim only after completing this waiting period, except in case of an accident. And for listed diseases, the waiting period is 1 year.
