Read along to know everything about car insurance claim inspection.

According to the Indian Motor Tariff Act of 2002, every car owner in India is required to have a car insurance policy. If a vehicle is stolen or is involved in an accident, the insured car owner may file a claim for compensation. The extent of coverage will be determined entirely by the inspection reports.

All You Need to Know About Car Insurance Claim Inspection

Here is all you need to know about your car insurance claim:

1. Examine The Type Of Car Insurance You Hav

In general, there are three types of car insurance plans available. These are third-party and comprehensive car insurance policy. Third-party car insurance covers any property harm, serious injury, or death caused to a third party as a result of a car accident.

2. Don't Have A Car Insurance Policy That Isn't In Use

If you have an inactive car insurance policy, the coverage against your claim may be rejected right away. If you have a car insurance policy, you must still pay your annual premiums and extend your policy by the due date. It is beneficial to keep your insurance coverage active.

3. Photograph And Video of The Damaged Car

If you were not seriously hurt in the car crash, take as many pictures as you can of the disabled vehicle from various angles. You may also record a video that clearly shows all of the damages. When you file the argument, this serves as critical evidence. You can also photograph any minor injuries sustained as a result of the crash.

4. Notify The Insurance Company As Soon As Possible

Notifying the car insurance provider about the car accident too late could have negative consequences. In the event of an accident or theft of your vehicle, the insurer can flatly refuse to pay your claim. You must file a claim within a few hours of your car being involved in an accident. Your insurance provider will send a towing van to drive your vehicle to a network garage if it is not drivable after an accident. Soon, the designated vehicle inspector will arrive.

5. Be Honest While Answering Surveyor’s Questions

During the car inspection, a car surveyor can ask you a series of questions in order to gather information about the car's theft or accident. When answering the inspector's questions, you should be completely frank. If you are found to be safe, you might be eligible for enhanced coverage.

6. Submit All Necessary Documents To The Surveyor

You must give the correct paperwork to the car surveyor when he arrives at the car accident/theft scene. As a convenience, several car insurance providers now allow online document submission. You should upload the scanned documents when filing a claim in this case.
