Cars have become integral for our daily use, moreover, they are one of the major purchases that we make in our lives. Hence, keeping them in tip-top shape is very important. Tyres are one of the most vital parts of the car and taking care of them should be our top priority. Both for safety and financial reasons. Here are some tips to make sure your tyres are in well maintained:

An ideal tyre most experts say should be able to last a long time, provide the car good mileage, efficient steering control and make the overall ride a smooth experience. Car tyres will deteriorate in efficiency due to natural wear and tear and must be changed at regular intervals.

How Can You Keep Your Tyres In Great Condition?

The following are some elementary tips you can to keep your tyre in good condition and extend its period of use:

Tip 1: Maintain the optimum pressure of the tyres. Make sure to check the pressure in your tyre periodically. A healthy tyre can ensure an overall healthy vehicle. Moreover, underinflated tyres can cause the car to take up more energy causing unnecessary stress to the other parts of the car. Overinflated tyres can also be a hazard. On longer drives, the air inside the tyre expands and may cause the tyre to burst.

Tip 2: The groves of the tyres are usually 8-9 mm deep when they’re new, these erode over time becoming shallower. As this happens make sure that the grove/tread is never lower than 1.6mm deep. Also make sure the wear and tear on the tyres is even, if not it may be because your tyres are inflated incorrectly.

Tip 3: To make the tread life of your tyres longer make sure to rotate them. Do this every 5,000 to 8,000 kms.

Tip 4: If the steering wheel of your car vibrates while you drive it could mean your wheels are not correctly balanced, due to excessive wear and tear. If this happens it is wise to get your car checked by a mechanic as soon as possible.

Tip 5: Some dos and don’ts with car tyres. Do not mix up your car tyres, make sure they are all from the same manufacturer. Secondly, try to avoid braking hard while driving as it affects the wheels. Thirdly, Accelerating quickly can also bring similar damage to your car. Lastly check the alignment of your car regularly. Misaligned wheels can reduce the car's mileage drastically.
