    This is a unique plan for patients suffering from heart related diseases. I have used this plan for more than one year.     Religare Care Heart is a health insurance plan designed for individuals suffering from heart-related ailments. The policy covers heart-related surgeries and treatments and pays for the medical costs incurred. The policy is, therefore, a disease-specific policy which covers medical costs of heart-related ailments which is otherwise excluded from other normal health insurance plans.

    The plan is available in four options and the sum insured varies with each option. The sum insured starts at Rs. 3 Lakh for plan option 1 and goes up to Rs. 10 Lakh for plan option 4. The policy is available only for adults aged 18 years and above. There is, however, no limit on the entry age and individuals of all ages can buy the plan. Coverage can be taken individually or on a floater basis where two individuals can be covered under the same plan.

    The plan covers all the basic medical expenses which are incurred when the insured avail any heart-related treatments.   • What is the eligibility for buying the plan?

    The plan can be bought by anyone aged 18 years and above. There is no maximum entry age. Moreover, renewals are also allowed lifelong.

  • Can the policy be taken on a floater basis?

    Yes, the policy can be taken on a floater basis. However, floater plans would only cover two adults under one policy. For dependent children the policy would have to be taken on an individual sum insured basis.

  • What is the available term of the plan?

    The plan can be taken for 1, 2 or 3 policy years.

  • Is there a limit on room rent under hospitalisation cover?

    In case the policyholder opts for a sum insured of Rs. 2 Lakh, Rs. 3 Lakh, Rs. 4 Lakh, the room rent limit would be 1% of the sum insured per day. For all other sum insured options there is no room rent limit. A single private room would be allowed.

    Ambulance costs up to Rs.  2000 are covered for sum insured levels of Rs. 2 Lakh, Rs. 3 Lakh, Rs. 4 Lakh and Rs. 5 Lakh. For sum insured of Rs. 7 Lakh and Rs.10 Lakh, ambulance cost of up to Rs. 3000 is covered.

  • What is automatic recharge of sum insured?

    Under automatic recharge of sum insured, 100% of the sum insured is restored if it is exhausted in any policy year on earlier claims.

  • Does the plan allow no claim bonus?

    Yes, the plan allows no claim bonus if no claim is made in a policy year. As a bonus, 10% of the sum insured is increased for every claim-free policy year subject to a maximum increment of 50% in aggregate.

  • What optional benefits are available under the plan?

    The optional coverage benefits available under the plan include OPD care, international second opinion, home care and active health check-up.

  • What is home care?

    Under the coverage benefit of home care, expenses incurred in hiring a nurse for the care of the patient would be covered.
