About IFFCO Tokio Corona Kavach Health Insurance
IFFCO Tokio Corona Kavach Health Insurance Policy is a short-term indemnity-based health insurance policy that protects you and your family against medical expenses incurred due to COVID-19. You can purchase this policy on an individual or floater basis to secure yourself and your loved ones against healthcare expenses related to the pandemic. The policy offers a choice of three short term tenures that are 3.5 months, 6.5 months, and 9.5 months and comes in sum insured options ranging between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 5 lakh (in the multiples of Rs. 50,000). People aged between 1 day and 65 years can be covered under this policy which may include self, legally wedded spouse, dependent children, parents, and parents-in-law. Note that the minimum age to be the proposer for this policy is 18 years.
To avail of benefits under the policy, you are required to complete a waiting period of 15 days. Because the policy has a short term, therefore it does not come with a free look period. But the policy offers you many benefits such as cover for in-patient-hospitalisation expenses related to COVID-19, no room rent capping, cover for AYUSH treatments, cover for home care expenses, no co-payment clause, etc.

- Expenses incurred on in-patient care treatment for COVID-19 under AYUSH systems of medicines
- Home care treatment expenses on positive diagnosis of COVID-19 for up to 14 days per incident
- 15 days pre-hospitalisation and 30 days post-hospitalisation expenses
- Medical expenses for hospitalisation for COVID-19 for at least 24 consecutive hours
- Road ambulance expenses for up to Rs. 2,000 per hospitalisation
What's Not Included
- Any treatment related to COVID-19 that got diagnosed before the date of commencement of the policy
- Any treatment taken outside the geographical boundaries of India
- Any medical expenses related to rest cure, rehabilitation, and respite care
- Expenses incurred on daycare treatment and OPD treatment
- Testing done at a diagnostic center not approved by the government of India

Yes. IFFCO Tokio Corona Kavach Health Insurance Policy offers an optional cover of Hospital Daily Cash. Under this, you can avail the cash benefit of 0.5% of the sum insured for every completed day of continuous hospitalisation. You can avail the benefit of up to 15 days in every policy period.
