Star Health Gain Expert Review

  • Expert Review

When you want a health insurance cover for yourself and your family members, it is often hard to decide-Which health insurance policy to buy, Individual or Family floater? This is because some offer certain benefits when you purchase a separate cover for the members, and some do it vice versa. In order to provide cover for all members under the same plan without compromising with benefits, Star Health gets you the one in all solution under its Health Gain Plan.

Star Health Gain is a kind of health insurance that fulfills the health care requirements of both individuals and families even with variation in age and medical necessities. It can be counted as one of the pros of considering this policy, that it gives you the flexibility to choose the amount premium you wish to pay and sum insured you require. Premium options that you can choose from start at Rs. 15,000 and go up till Rs. 30,000 (applicable GST extra). Whereas the sum insured options that are available range from Rs. 1 Lakh to Rs. 5 Lakh. The plan also offers complete flexibility in deciding on the size of family you want to cover, provided he/she is aged between 91 days to 65 years. Which means you may include yourself, your spouse, and dependent children of up to 25 years if they fulfill the age criteria.

  • Major Attractions

While designing Health Gain plan, Star Health has kept in mind the varied health care requirements of customers. One of the important highlights of the plan is that it covers both in-patient and outpatient expenses, which is not very common in other individual and family floater plans. Major features that make this plan a good choice are-

    • All the daycare procedures are included
    • Cost of medicines and drugs covered
    • Surgeon, Medical Practitioner, Specialist, and Consultant’s fees
    • Pre-hospitalisation expenses up to 30 days before getting admitted in the hospital
    • Post-hospitalisation expenses up to 60 days after the date of discharge from the hospital
    • Blood, oxygen, anaesthesia, diagnostic materials, operation theatre charges, etc.
    • Room, Boarding, Nursing Expenses covered up to 1% of the sum insured per day
    • Ambulance charges for a maximum of Rs. 750 per hospitalisation and Rs. 1,500 per policy period
    • Cover for outpatient expenses up to a certain limit (depending on the premium and sum insured opted for)
  • What’s More?

Some more benefits that come along when you purchase this plan are given below. They do not cost you anything extra but keep you satisfied. These include:

    • Tax benefits under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act
    • Cashless hospitalisation provided in network hospitals
    • a grace period of 30 days provided for renewal of the policy
    • Portability benefit provided to the policyholders
  • Conclusion

The policy has quite a lot of benefits to offer. Apart from great flexibility, it provides wider coverage to the customers too. Also, considering the customer reviews, the plan fits the best for all your health care needs.

To buy the plan from trusted health insurance brokers online, compare them on the basis of services they provide, major coverage features, and customer reviews online. You can also purchase the policy from the insurer’s website. But buying one from an agent is not a good option. This is because the conversation between you and the agent is not recorded, which leads to greater chances of manipulation later. Also, agents are commission based employees, and they cannot help you at the time of claim. So, health insurance brokers serve the best in this case.
