2. Aam Admi Bima Yojna (AABY)
The Aam Admi Bima Yojana is a National Health Insurance scheme started by the central government of India in the year 2007.
It covers individuals from the ages of 18 - 59 years, including citizens without any property living in both urban and rural areas.
Under the policy, the head earning member of the family is covered at the premium of INR 200 per annum. In case the insured dies due to natural causes INR 30,000 is provided to the family and if the insured dies due to disability the family is given INR 75,000.;
3. Ayushman Bharat
The Ayushman Bharat Scheme is also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). It came into existence in September of 2018. The Scheme is aimed at economically vulnerable Indian citizens living in urban and rural areas. The scheme provides a sum insured of INR 5 lakh to families and the amount is paid in Lump Sum.
The scheme covers 3 days of pre-hospitalisation and 15 days of post-hospitalisation expenses, along with 1,400+ procedures with all related costs like OT expenses are also covered.
4. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana
The Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana started in 2016 with the aim of providing insurance to Indian citizens between the ages of 18 - 70 years of age who have a bank account.
The premium to be paid is INR 12 per annum, which will be automatically deducted from the beneficiary’s bank account. The cover provided is INR 2 lakh in case of permanent disability or accidental death and INR 1 lakh in case of partial disability.
5. Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Insurance Scheme
The Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Insurance Scheme is a state health care scheme launched by the state government of Tamil Nadu, in association with United India Insurance Company.
It is a family floater policy designed to provide a comprehensive health cover to people, covering more than a thousand medical procedures.
Residents of Tamil Nadu that earn below INR 75,000 per year are eligible for this plan. It has a sum insured of INR 5 lakh that can be used in private as well as public hospitals.
