Looking at the Brighter Side of Coronavirus Induced Lockdown
Coronavirus Lockdown Brighter Side: The entire world is under the threat of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). To avoid the spread of this highly infectious disease, many countries like France, Belgium, China, UK, Norway, New Zealand, Poland, Italy, Indonesia, Spain, Germany, Denmark, and even India have adopted stricter measures like locking down the affected areas or the entire nation to follow the practice of social distancing. India is currently under lockdown 4.0, the entire population is facing several difficulties.
But the saying-‘Every dark cloud has a silver lining’, rightly conveys the notion that no matter how bad the situation may seem, it always has some good aspect to it. And yes, despite all the hardships, the lockdown has a positive impact too.
Let us discuss on the brighter side of coronavirus induced lockdown below:
1. More Time with Family
So many people are seeing the situation of lockdown as an opportunity to spend more quality time and bond with their families. Many are contributing to domestic chores as per their caliber and enjoying them as well so that the burden does not fall on any one person. Apart from doing chores, families are cooking together, eating together, playing, watching their favorite shows, exercising, and having solid conversations. In short, they are doing everything to turn the lockdown situation into vacation time.

2. We Are Focusing More on Our Health
Many of us may be missing weekly dine-outs with friends or family or partying on weekends, but the truth is that we have now resorted to simple and better-eating habits. Also, people are engaging themselves in exercising or other fitness activities like dancing or doing yoga daily as now they have extra free time. This is contributing a lot in creating healthier versions of themselves.
3. Cleaner River Water
Coronavirus lockdown has a great impact on nature as well. As people are forced to stay indoors, the visuals of cleaner river Ganga have emerged from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur and Varanasi. And the authorities have confirmed that clear water is a result of coronavirus lockdown in India.
4. Positive Consequences For Air Quality
No doubt that COVID-19 lockdown in India has resulted in cleaner air. It has improved the air quality in major parts of India mainly for the levels of nitrogen dioxide. As there is a huge drop in the number of vehicles on the road since the coronavirus lockdown began, it has made the air safe to breathe. The blue sky is clearly visible too.
5. Animals Are Moving Freely
Since humans are locked inside their homes, animals have started roaming freely outside which they couldn’t enjoy earlier apart from being in their normal territory area. Many places have witnessed deers, coyotes, mountain goats, elephants, etc. are roaming freely in the villages and even cities.
6. Improving Creativity
Amid coronavirus lockdown, people are now investing more time in their hobbies. They are getting creative by learning new things online like playing an instrument, cooking a new dish, etc. In the absence of the pressure of fast-paced life, people are now more into self-care habits, reading books, etc. and focusing on things which actually make them happy.
The lockdown has taught us how to live a simple life by minimizing unnecessary wants as much as possible. For instance, we are getting online to work and learn easily, watching movies at home instead of going to the theatres, making bank transactions online, eating simple home-cooked food instead of going to fancy restaurants, purchasing different consumer goods online instead of visiting stores, etc.
Still, we need to fight the outbreak as soon as possible in order to get back to the natural glory of the globe. Which is why it is advised to follow the necessary precautions to keep ourselves safe during the pandemic.
