About HDFC ERGO Corona Kavach Health Insurance
The Corona Kavach Health Insurance Policy offered by HDFC ERGO General Insurance has been designed to offer coverage against expenses incurred during hospitalization in addition to pre-hospitalisation and post-hospitalisation medical expenses for treatment of Coronavirus (COVID-19). This health insurance plan can be availed by persons between the age of 18 years and 65 years, as a proposer. This indemnity based health insurance plan is available on an individual as well as family floater basis. It provides a wide range of sum insured options from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 5 lakh, in the multiples of fifty thousand.
This Corona Kavach Plan by HDFC ERGO General Insurance extends its coverage to several relationships which include self, spouse, dependent children, parents and parents-in-law. It comes with different policy terms such as 3.5 months i.e., 105 days, 6 months i.e., 195 days, and 9.5 months i.e., 285 days, including the waiting period. This health insurance policy is equipped with several benefits like in-patient hospitalisation for Covid-19 treatment, home care treatment expenses, AYUSH treatment, etc. An optional benefit of hospital daily cash is also available under this cover.

How much is the coverage for pre-hospitalisation and post-hospitalisation expenses?
The insurance company indemnify pre-hospitalisation expenses and pre-hospitalisation expenses and home care treatment expenses incurred for a fixed period of 15 days prior to the date of hospitalisation or home care treatment and for a fixed period of 30 days from the date of discharge from the hospital covered under the insurance provider.
