About Liberty Corona Kavach Health Insurance

Liberty General Corona Kavach Policy covers you and your family against the medical expenses incurred due to COVID-19 treatment. Available for 3.5 months, 6.5 months, and 9.5 months, the policy can be purchased for sum insured options ranging between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 5 lakh (in the multiples of Rs. 50,000). To be the proposer for this policy, you must be aged between 18 years and 65 years. Apart from self, you can add a legally wedded spouse, dependent children (natural or legally adopted), parents, and parents-in-law in this policy. The policy comes without any capping on room rent or any co-payment clause thereby keeping you stress-free at the time of emergency.

The policy comes with an optional cover named Hospital Daily Cash which you can opt and avail daily cash of 0.5% of the sum insured every day for every 24 hours of continuous hospitalisation. Along with the several benefits that the policy offers, you can also enjoy tax benefits on the premium paid for it. You can start availing of benefits after 15 days of the waiting period that shall be counted from the date of commencement of the policy. Note that to be able to avail of policy benefits, the testing has to be done at a diagnostic centre authorized by the government.

  • Pre-hospitalisation and post-hospitalisation expenses for up to 15 days and 30 days respectively
  • In-patient treatment for COVID-19 under AYUSH systems of medicines.

What's Not Included

  • Any COVID-19 related claim where it has been diagnosed prior to policy start date
  • Any expense incurred on daycare treatment and OPD treatment
  • Diagnosis/treatment outside the geographical boundaries of India
  • Claims made during the 15 days waiting period are not covered
  • Testing done at a diagnostic centre that is not authorized by the government.

  • What is the age criteria to be covered under Liberty Corona Kavach Health Insurance Policy?

    You can be the proposer of Liberty General Corona Kavach Policy if you are aged between 18 years and 65 years. You can also add dependent children if they are aged between 1 day and 25 years. Note that if the child is above 18 years of age is financially independent, he or she shall be ineligible.

  • Can I purchase Liberty Corona Kavach Health Insurance Policy on floater basis?

    Yes. Liberty General Corona Kavach Policy can be purchased on an individual as well as floater basis. Note that on an individual basis, the sum insured shall be applied to each individual family member whereas on a floater basis, the sum insured shall apply to the entire family.

  • Can I enjoy tax benefits on the premium paid for Liberty General Corona Kavach Policy?

    Yes. You are eligible to avail tax benefits on the premium paid for Liberty General Corona Kavach Policy under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act. 

  • Is there any sub-limit applicable under Liberty General Corona Kavach Policy?

    Yes. The following sub-limits are applicable under Liberty General Corona Kavach Policy: 

    • Hospital Daily Cash: 0.5% of sum insured per day subject to maximum of 15 days in a policy period for every insured member
    • Home care treatment: Subject to a maximum of 14 days per incident.

     

  • What all is covered under treatment taken with AYUSH systems of medicines?

    Liberty General Corona Kavach Policy covers you for medical expenses incurred for in-patient care treatment for COVID-19 under Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy systems of medicines. These are covered for up to the sum insured during a policy term as per the policy terms and conditions.
