  • What is the entry age to get covered under the Star Health Family Delite Plan?

    Entry age to get covered under the plan is between 18 years and 65 years. Dependent kids can also find coverage from the age of 5 months to 25 years. However, there exist no exit age under the plan.

  • What are the relations that can get covered under this health insurance plan?

    Relationships that can be covered under the plan comprise of self, spouse, and kids.

  • How many network hospitals offer cashless hospitalisation for this plan?

    There are 9300+ hospitals across India that provides the cashless facility for Family Delite Plan.

  • What is the waiting period applicable for pre-existing illnesses under this health insurance plan?

    The pre-existing diseases are covered after 48 months of continuous insurance coverage with the plan of Star Health Insurance. 

  • Does Star Health Family Delite Plan offer any free look period?

    Yes, A 15 day free look period from the date of receipt of the policy is offered for reviewing the terms and conditions of the health insurance plan. If an insured person is not comfortable and satisfied with the plan, he can request the cancellation of the policy. However, in such condition, the firm will refund some amount of premium after adjusting the cost of medical examination for pre-acceptance, stamp duty costs and proportionate risk premium for the concerned period, provided no claim has been requested until the cancellation. Free look cancellation isn't applicable during the time of renewal.

  • Do I need to go through any medical screening to purchase this plan?

    Yes, if you are a person above 50 years of age, you will have to go through a pre-acceptance medical screening at the insurance firm nominated centres. The expense of medical screening or examination is borne by the insurance company.
     

  • Does this plan offer coverage for in-patient hospitalisation expenses?

    Yes, the health insurance plan gives the insurance coverage for hospitalisation related expenses. The health policy safeguards the insured member for the cost of in-patient hospitalisation for at least 24 hours. These expenses include Room rent, Boarding charges, Nursing costs, Surgeon, Medical Practitioner, Specialist Fees, and Cost of medicines. 

  • Does any third party administrator intervention required for claim settlement under this plan?

    No Third Party Administrator (TPA) is available under Star Health Insurance. Hence, the direct in-house claim settlement procedure is followed for Family Delite Plan. The absence of TPA makes the claim settlement process faster and hassle-free.

    Although, the exclusion list of the plan is long, here is the checklist of a few excluded treatments:

    1. Naturopathy treatment
    2. Non-allopathic treatment
    3. Weight control/loss programs
    4. Dental treatment or surgery 
    5. Enhanced external counter pulsation therapy 
    6. Lasik laser or refractive error correction, etc.
