About New India Corona Kavach Health Insurance

The New India Assurance Corona Kavach Policy provides indemnification of medical expenses incurred by the policyholders during their hospitalisation, for the treatment of Coronavirus (COVID-19) during the policy period. It is designed to cover hospitalisation or home care treatment for Coronavirus. All the proposers of this medical insurance cover should be between the age of 18 years and 65 years. The plan is available on an individual and family floater basis, where a maximum of 10 persons are allowed to be covered under this plan. The members of the family who can be covered under this policy are self, spouse, children, parents, and parents-in-law.

When it comes to coverage, the policy holds various sum insured options ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 5 lakh. Apart from the coverage, the plan is loaded with a range of benefits which include COVID-19 hospitalisation cover, pre-hospitalisation and post-hospitalisation costs, home care treatment expenses, AYUSH treatment and so on. In addition to these, an add-on cover known as hospital daily cash is also available under this health insurance policy. However, all the features and benefits of this plan can be availed only after the completion of a waiting period of 15 days. This standard plan offers a 5% discount to health care workers for their contribution.
