  • What is the policy tenure of New India Assurance Cancer Mediclaim Policy?

    New India Assurance’s Cancer Mediclaim Policy can be purchased for one year or five years and each member has to pay an annual membership of the society including premium, before the date of expiry. 

     

  • Is there any bonus that New India Assurance provides to its policyholders through this policy?

    Yes. New India Assurance allows a cumulative bonus of 5% for every year when a claim is not made up to a maximum of 50%. 

  • Will I have to serve a waiting period on renewal of this policy?

    No. The renewal insurance will not have any waiting period. The policy can be used as before once it is renewed. 

  • Who all can be covered under this policy?

    Insured members and their spouses can be covered under this policy.  Dependent children can also be added along with the insured individual if an additional premium is paid for the same. Every child is granted separate indemnities. 

  • What are the sum insured options available under this policy?

    New India Assurance’s Cancer Mediclaim Policy can be purchased for sum insured options of Rs. 50,000; Rs. 1 Lakh; Rs. 1.5 Lakh; and Rs. 2 Lakh.

  • How will the policy work if one of the insured members contracts Cancer?

    If one of the insured members contracts Cancer, then the Spouse will not be covered. In this case, the Spouse can seek individual membership.

    Anyone who is aged below 70 years can be covered under this policy. 

  • How are premiums calculated for this policy?

    Premiums for this policy are calculated on the basis of the sum insured, age, medical conditions, etc. Rates can be checked from the prospectus, brochure or the website. 

  • What are the documents required if I make a claim under this policy?

    The policyholders are required to submit the following claim related documents within 7 days after discharge from the hospital-

    • Bill, discharge certificate or card and receipt from the hospital
    • Cash memos from the hospital, chemist, etc.
    • Pathological test reports and the receipts
    • Bill and receipt of the Surgeon
    • Attending Practitioner’s bill and receipt
    • Certificate regarding diagnosis
  • When should one inform the TPA at the time of medical emergency?

    The policyholders are required to intimate within 24 hours from the time of hospitalisation in the event of emergency hospitalisation
