Top-up & Super Top-up of HDFC ERGO Health Insurance

A super top-up health insurance plan is a beneficial addition to the primary health cover. The policy can be used only when the claim amount exceeds the deductible and sum insured of the base policy within a policy year. A deductible in health insurance is a fixed amount that the insured has to pay from their own pocket in order to avail the policy benefits. Usually, the deductible is the same as the base sum insured amount.

Super top-up plans are perfect for maintaining high coverage amounts and low overall premiums. They cover “multiple hospitalisations” and use the deductible option to increase the cover of an existing insurance plan.

    Anyone can buy HDFC Ergo’s my: Health Medisure Super Top Up. While the minimum entry age is 18 years, the maximum entry age is 65 years. Even the children from 91 days to 23 years can be covered under this plan. Waiting Period Under the Plan The waiting period for pre-existing diseases is 3 years, and for any illness, except an injury is 30 days. However, certain specified diseases are covered after 24 months. Renewability of the Plan My: Health Medisure Super Top-Up policy offers lifelong renewability. Exclusions Under the Plan My: Health Medisure Super Top-Up policy does not cover the insured against the following healthcare expenses: Self-inflicted injuries Non-allopathic treatment Sexually transmitted diseases Participation in defense operations Treatment of obesity or cosmetic surgery
