How To Make Kotak Cashless Car Insurance Claim
Follow the below-mentioned steps to file a cashless car insurance claim:
Step 1: Inform Kotak General Insurance
Intimate Kotak General Insurance immediately after the accident/mishap by calling toll-free number 1800-266-4545 or submitting a Claim Intimation Form along with the policy details to inform the company about your claim.
Step 2: Inspection of Damaged Vehicle
Kotak General will arrange an inspection of the damaged vehicle within 24 hours (if the claim is made on working days) of filing the claim. However, if the accident is reported for the claim on Sunday or any other public holiday, the inspection will be done on the next working day.
Kotak offers a towing service within 50 km of the damaged spot. The service towing service will be entirely free of any charge if you have opted for the Roadside Assistance cover. However, it will be free of charge up to Rs 1,500 if you have not opted for the Roadside Assistance add-on at the time policy purchase.
Step 3: Submission of Documents
Submit all the relevant documents to the company as prescribed under the terms and conditions. Make sure that all the information entered in the claim form matches the ones present in the submitted documents.
Step 4: Repairs and Cashless Settlement
The damaged vehicle will be repaired at the network garage and the company will send the repair cost directly to the workshop.
Step 5: Pay Deductibles and Take Your Car
Pay your liability of compulsory deductible and voluntary deductible (if opted for) and drive your car back home.
How To Make Kotak Reimbursement Car Insurance Claim
In case, you are unable to or do not want to repair your car at a network garage, you can follow the steps to file a reimbursement claim:
Step 1: Intimate Kotak General
Inform Kotak General immediately after the accident by calling toll-free number 1800-266-4545 or submitting a Claim Intimation Form along with the policy details.
Step 2: Arrangement Of Surveyor and Towing Service
The company will send a surveyor to the accident/mishap spot for inspection of the damages incurred. Post inspection, you need to take the damaged vehicle to a garage for repairs. For this, you can request a towing service from the company, which will be reimbursable up to Rs. 1,500.
Step 3: Car Repairs and Bill Payment
Get your vehicle repaired at any nearby garage and pay the repair cost. Get all the bills and submit them to the insurer in order to get the reimbursement amount.
Step 4: Documentation
Submit all the required documents along with the claim form and bills of repairs.
Step 5: Reimbursement
Kotak General Insurance will reimburse you after factoring deductibles within 7 days of receipt of all relevant documents in accordance with terms & conditions.
Common Kotak Car Insurance Claim Rejection Reasons
A car insurance claim can be rejected because of the following reasons:
- Expired policy because of non-renewal.
- Wrong information entered in the claim form.
- Delay in intimating Kotak General about the accident.
- Driving without a driving licence and RC (Registration Certificate).
- Accident happened due to careless driving or intoxication of the driver.
- Vehicle repaired in the self authorisation mode i.e. without informing the insurer.
Kotak No Claim Bonus
If you own a car insurance policy, then based on your previous claim history, policyholders of Kotak General Insurance are eligible for an attractive No Claim Bonus (NCB) at the time of policy renewal. It is a reward delivered in terms of discount which increases progressively with each claim free year from 20% up to a maximum of 50%. If you do not make any claim in the preceding year or years, you are entitled to a no claim bonus on the standalone own-damage car insurance plan or own-damage (OD) component of the comprehensive car insurance policy.
In order to hold this benefit and continue to avail it, you should renew your car insurance policy within 90 days of the previous policy’s expiry date. On failing to do so, this benefit will become null and void. The NCB benefit is transferable which means you can use it to secure your new car or can transfer it to your new car insurance plan as it is offered to policyholders and not to the car. However, to keep it intact, you should renew your car insurance plan on time, you should try to bear small expenses without raising any claim or you can buy a NCB protect add-on cover.
