Common Claim Rejection Reasons

  • When a fraudulent claim with an exaggerated description of damages is presented by a policyholder.
  • If the accident occurred due to mindful negligence on the part of the driver.
  • If the accident occurred because the driver was under the influence of intoxicants like alcohol or drugs.
  • If the insurance policy has expired.
  • If the vehicle was repaired before the surveyor evaluated the damages.

Shriram No Claim Bonus

A No Claim Bonus is a reward which is offered to policyholders who did not raise any claim during the policy period. The insurance company provides this benefit at the time of policy renewal. The NCB benefit ranges between 20% and 50% which keeps on increasing with every consecutive claim-free year and it is applicable on the own-damage premium component of your car insurance policy. Even a single claim during the policy year can make this benefit null and void. Due to this, every policyholder should try to avoid making a claim by driving responsibly as well as by bearing small claims on your own.

The No Claim Bonus is an award provided to the insured person and not the vehicle as it is an acknowledgement of your safe driving throughout the policy period. This feature of NCB allows the policyholders to get it transferred to their another car insurance policy or to secure a new car after selling the old one. Also, as this benefit can be earned at the time of renewal only, hence, it is recommended to all the policyholders to renew their insurance policies on time. To retain the no claim bonus benefit, you can also opt for a No Claim Bonus Protection add-on cover, which secures your bonus even after making the claim.
