- A copy of the driver’s license
- A copy of the policy documents
- The original keys to the vehicle

TATA AIG provides free repair and replacement of the insured’s car in its network garages. To save the expense of damage to insured’s car, these are the simple steps that you should follow.
Step 1: Contact the insurer
It is necessary to inform the insurer immediately after the incident, be it theft, accident or any damage to the car. You can initiate the process by calling their toll-free number 1800 119966 or by sending the SMS “CLAIMS” to 5616181. In case of an accident, note down the number of the other vehicle. Collecting the details of the witnesses can help in the claim settlement process.
Step 2: Register Claim
Within 48 hours of receiving notice, the company contacts the policyholder within 48 hours. You must inform him of the incident, as well as your personal information and other relevant details. You will be led through the procedure by the representative.You have to download the claim form and fill up the details as well.
Step 3: Survey of Damages
The insurance company sends a surveyor to evaluate the extent of the damage done to the car during the accident.You have to hand over the documents and duly-filled claim form to the surveyor.

Step 2: Register A Claim and Get Claim Reference Number
The executive of the insurance company reverts back to you within 48 hours. You have to inform the executive about the policy number and details about the accident. The executive informs you about the procedure and makes an assessment of the cost of repair.
Step 3: Survey of the Damages Incurred
Before the car is sent for repairs, the company sends a surveyor to check its condition. After determining the extent of the damage, you must complete the claim form and submit it to the surveyor with the required documentation and proof.
Step 4: Repair and Reimbursement
You can now send the car to the garage of your choice. After the completion of the repair, you have to pay for the garage. Tata AIG No Claim Bonus

The NCB is a reward given by Tata AIG General Insurance to policyholders who have not made a claim in the old policy year at the time of renewal.While purchasing a car insurance plan there is no NCB, but policyholders can earn this discount with every consecutive claim-free year with which they can reduce their own-damage car insurance policy premium for the next year. The no-claim bonus ranges from 20% and accumulates with every claim-free year up to 50%.
To keep this No Claim Bonus, one should renew car insurance policy on time, i.e., before the date of expiry. If a policyholder fails to renew his or her car insurance policy on time, the insurer allows it to renew it in the grace period which is 90 days from the expiry date. But, if the policy is not renewed even then, the NCB benefit shall become lapsed.Since the NCB benefit is given to the policyholder rather than the vehicle, it can be transferred to another car. You must transfer it to your new car while selling your old car or switching plans. Lastly, even the smallest claim might lead to you losing your NCB benefit, so try and cover minor expenses on your own.
